changing where your tags appera on your blog
-
I have recently added tags to my blog to try to get better SEO however the list of categories and tags are appearing above the body of each post, just after the Title of the post.
I would like them to appear at the bottom of the post so that they aren’t a distraction, so my question is –
Can I change where they appear in my blog and if so how do I get them to appear at the bottom of the post rather than at the top.
I’m using the free Greyzed Theme from The Forge Web Creations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have the Custom Design upgrade? The only way to do this is with CSS and on some themes it is trickier than on others.

Also just FYI, 10 tags maximum per post is a very good rule of thumb. Anything more than that and you will possibly be marked as a tag spammer and not appear in the global tags pages here, and even the major search engines will likely discount your search engine ranking.

Actually in Greyzed, the entire blog, including the date, author and all the tags and categories are under one selector in the CSS, which means everything would move. There is no way to only move the categories and/or tags.

Thank you “thesacredpath” for your help. Unfortunately, at this time, I am still on a learning curve.
If I wanted to change to a different Theme is there an easy way to check if I can manipulate where the Tags etc go?
Also thanks for the heads up as to the number of Tags I should be using. I will reduce the number back to 8 – 10

You are welcome, and when looking for themes, I would look for ones that have the tags at the bottom of the post already. Other than that, you have to look at the CSS and the markup (XHTML) for the theme and see if the tags/categories are in separate selectors. Some themes, especially older themes.

I see a grevious error in my statement above which should read,
“Actually in Greyzed, the entire metadata, including the date, author and all the tags and categories are under one selector in the CSS…”
