characters replaced by html coding
-
I have been blogging on WordPress.com for years but it is starting to get really annoying. It stopped posting to facebook months ago, and I have done all the things suggested and it is still not appearing on facebook, but I lived with that. Now when I post a blog in plain text html figures, like < , ” and > are being stripped and replace with the html code! I have changed it back and updated 4 times in a row and it does it every time!
It is quicker for me to write code than use menu buttons. Why am I being prevented from doing so?
Below is an example of what I wrote and what wordpress changes it to.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Except of course wordpress.com has stripped out the both versions of the coded links I gave as examples so I cannot show what is happening. Nice one wordpress

Without a link to the blog you are asking about we can’t even speculate about helping you.

As for “Nice one wordpress”, you can’t display code just by pasting it: if it’s wrong it will get stripped out, if it’s correct it will produce the intended result (the exact same thing that would happen if you tried pasting code in a comment in your blog). To display code here, you paste it between backticks, as the instructions below the Reply field say.
