  I want to use the free blog to learn how to use one, and was surprised with the domain charge. What gives?

  Simple – your http://oldwinger1100.wordpress.com/ blog is free –

  if you want a custom domain name (maybe oldwinger.com) will cost you

  Thank you. This is all a bit new to me and I had to decide if I really needed or wanted a custom domain name. All assistance much appreciated.
