  why do I need to give my credit card if I am to get a free first year? Will I be charged something on my account . If so , why if it is free for one year.

  Hi @caliopolous, perhaps there’s some confusion: typically our offer gives you a free domain registration or transfer if you purchase a one-year paid plan. Then you’d pay for the plan and domain renewal each year after that.

  So we would need the card for the plan purchase. If you’re seeing something that suggests otherwise, can you let us know where you saw it and what it said, so we can make sure that’s clarified?
