Charged for domain name I already own

    I paid for a domain name registration on a domain that I had already own, I did not realize what WordPress was trying to charge me for domain registration, I thought I was just setting up a free blog and the charge was to use my own Domain name instead of .wordpress.com Its strange that WordPress didn’t indicate that the name was not available, that would have prevented this issue.
    It was confusing because I didn’t see where I could enter my domain name during the setup except for in the drop down menu, otherwise it was asking me to settle on WordPress extension.

    Can you please refund me the charges because now I’m realizing it was a charge for a domain name i already own. Also, domain name mapping, if this is something I don’t need then please remove this as well.

    My objective was, and still is, to use my own domain name in a free WordPress blog, thanks.

    This issue has been resolved, it was a matter of late night domain name registration, my error.
