checkout for a domain purchase

  I’m trying to pay for a new domain. In the checkout form it wants me to enter my phone number, but it keeps asking for a country code. I am in the US and I in the country block I selected Unites States. Why is it asking me for a country code?

  Can you try entering it in this format 18005551212 format (for a number that would be 1-800-555-1212)?

  Hope that makes sense.
