CherryDeli website
-
I’m the social media manager for a sandwich shop, Cherry Deli & Catering. A previous employee made a website that we’re not in control over but we need to have the site taken down so it doesn’t conflict with the current one. Is it possible to have it taken down?

Hi there, a WordPress.com website is owned by the person who registered it here and they will need to delete it themselves or transfer ownership of the site to another WordPress.com account so it can be deleted by the new owner.

https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/I’d suggest getting the log in information from the previous employee or trying any known email in the password reset form, as long as it was a shop-associated email address and you have access. But if you can’t, keep in mind that outdated sites are replaced in serps by sites that are routinely updated, so if you are not able to remove the old website, it will drop in serps over time. Also given that there is a lovely Google Local already in search returns, that will help too. That caught my eye immediately.
If the WordPress.com website has been around for some time and you do get control over it, you might consider purchasing a site redirect rather than outright deleting the site to redirect traffic to the new site. More on that at https://wordpress.com/support/site-redirect/
Hope that helps.
