Claims of Phishing site, and of being Untrusted

    Safari said that my site is a Phishing site, and Firefox said that it’s Untrusted. Why?

    Hey Lloyd,

    This error happens when you try to visit a WordPress.com blog with a custom domain through HTTPS. Note the difference between the following URLs:

    http://lloydprentice.com/

    https://lloydprentice.com/

    The first one does not use SSL, so it should not give you an error. The second one will give you an error because the certificate is for wordpress.com, not your domain. We currently do not support custom SSL certificates for WordPress.com blogs, but it’s OK if your users add an exception for your site since it’s expected behavior.

    If you’d like to avoid this error in the future, only use the HTTP URL when you’re linking to your blog. If you think this error is happening due to another reason, let me know and we can follow up on that.
