Clarifying how to meet our privacy / public goals
-
I want to make some pages public, then others private to invite people as only Viewers (not admin or contributing, etc.). It seems to me that we cannot have main public pages (i.e. blog, plus an about us page), then have a private content page with only Viewers. I must make the entire blog private or public. Do I understand this correctly? If I do – would a workaround be to create separate public and private blogs and place a link on the public one that leads to the private community blog if the person has been invited as a viewer? (And finally, do Viewers also have to create a WordPress account? I assume not.) Thank you for your help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is correct. And you’ve identified the only workaround, to create two separate blogs. And yes, Viewers have to create a WordPress.com account as they have to log in to see the blog.
