Clear one WordPress site

Hi! I have a site that began as a free wordpress.com page. However, I have since ported it to another host and domain. I would like to delete the old WordPress page so that the new one can appear on search engines. How can I go about doing this while ensuring that my new site remains up? Thank you!

Deleting your WordPress.com site will not cause your new site to appear in search engines. For the new site to appear in search engines, search engines need to index it, and that process can take eight to twelve weeks, even if you have the new site perfectly optimized for SEO. The only thing you can do to make this process go any faster is to regularly post new, original content on the new site that search engines can index, and eventually the new site will start replacing the old site’s outdated content in search results.
That said, you can delete your WordPress.com site at My Site ->Manage ->Settings. There is no possible way this can have any impact on your new site at another host, as there doesn’t exist any link between these two sites.
