Clicking undo deleted entire post and clicking redo did nothing

So I was four or five paragraphs into a most and made an error. I clicked the undo arrow and it deleted every word I’d written. In a panic I clicked the redo arrow and…nothing. The whole thing is gone. I can’t seem to find revisions and sadly I had failed to save as a draft. This can’t be right? It’s an absurd system if that’s how it’s meant to work. Is there any way to recover the post?

The site I need help with is brewmistress.co.za. It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the issue you faced. However, your site at brewmistress.co.za is not hosted by us at WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and is hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on WordPress.com.

You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

You can reach out to your host for help with your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.

The WordPress.org forums are also a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
