Client didn’t receive an activation email and your resend activation email form is broken.

Your form location on this page to resend activation email doesn’t work and my client is locked out of their account and unable to accept orders on their website. help!

Also, I know the difference between .com and .org. My client is using Woocommerce and needs the Jetpack integration in order to print shipping labels, so they need a WordPress.COM account, correct?

At any rate, this mishmash of accounts between wordpress.com/org/woocommerce/jetpack is incredibly confusing, and the fact that activation emails get lost is unacceptable. The fact that your “resend activation email” form is, first of all, buried in your support pages, and second of all BROKEN is infuriating.

  • What is the username on the affected account?

We don’t know. I can give you the email address: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  • There is no WordPress.com account using that email address.

Is your client trying to verify a WordPress.com username account, or the admin user account for their site itself? If it’s the latter, we have no control over that.

The fact that your “resend activation email” form is, first of all, buried in your support pages

I’m not sure what form you’re referring to here. The only place to resend a WordPress.com account verification email is from the account settings page at https://wordpress.com/me/account/

I’m not sure what form you’re referring to here.

See here when logged out: https://wordpress.com/support/contact/. Scroll down to “Trouble Activating?” The form does not work.

We are trying to verify a WordPress.com/Woocommerce account that was used to purchase a WooCommerce extension. We have the receipt email from the purchase of that extension on 12/9/2019, using the email address I provided above. The account was connected to WooCommerce on her site (WooCommerce > Extensions > WooCommerce.com Subscriptions) until yesterday, when we disconnected it to try to troubleshoot this.

How could there be no account with that email address if it was used to purchase a WooCommerce product and the license for that extension is still associated with the account?

The activation link was never clicked, it must have gone to the spam folder and was subsequently deleted.

  • The account can be recovered with the transaction details as you have described here:

Don’t share them in this public forum as they are unique to that account only. Please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com with the transaction details proving ownership of the account. I hope this helps.
