  it’s funny how WordPress has a UI where I can go to close my account, it then tells me I can’t close it and I have to open a ticket with support, and then my only option is to post to forums… so, maybe someone in the forums wants to see my request to close my account… we’ve moved to Squarespace

  In order to facilitate the closure of your account, we’ll first need to manually downgrade your Business Plan site to a free site, which may result in the loss of any content created with plugins.

  I’m sure this is what you want, but as this could result in content loss, we do need to ask for confirmation first.

  The site has been fully downgraded as requested, and you can now close your account by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/
