I want to close this site. I have a new website and blog via bluehost (FragrantWords.com) and in the process of trying to get a new password (or whatever) I am being connectedto this very old and unused site. I just want to go with my new site on WordPress (fragrant words) and not have two sites. Help!

First, since it’s now a self-hosted WordPress.org site, make sure that you’re logging into the new site at https://fragrantwords.com/wp-admin/
You won’t be able to access it here at WordPress.com until you install and connect the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As for deleting the old WordPress.com site, just follow this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
