  We are now using another provider for our website. I need to close the WordPress account. Will this cause any interruption in our url?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Is the WordPress.com account you want to close the account you are contacting us from? If so, then closing this account should be fine as there is no sites connected to it. What is the URL of the site? We’d be happy to further look into this for you.

  Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  So, it’s perfectly safe to close this account without affecting that site: https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/
