HI there – i just signed up to receive regular news from a site that word press seems to manage and it prompted me to ‘sign up ‘ to word press to make things easier. I did so and then discovered I was actually setting up a website, which I didn’t want , dont need and will not use. SO I now want to reverse what I just set up, but if I close it all permanently will this affect my receiving of the news service that I signed up for in the first place? thankyou!!

What is the site you signed up to?
You can have a WordPress.com account to follow that site without having a site yourself. Just go to My Site ->Settings to delete the site you created. You’ll still be able to see updates for the site you subscribed to in the WordPress.com Reader (where you can also follow other sites if you want to), and you’ll be able to receive notifications via email as well if you signed up for those.
You can disable any other emails, like marketing emails from WordPress.com, here:
