Closing my account to use its email address for another account

    I have two WordPress.com accounts. I want to change Account #1 to use the same email address as Account #2. I’m fine cancelling Account #2, since I don’t use it anymore (Account #1 is my primary account).

    If I cancel Account #2 and close it, and wait 30 days, will that free up the email address previously used with Account #2 for use with Account #1?

    Yes, it will.

    However, you don’t need to wait the full 30 days. Once you close account #2 we’ll send you an email to confirm it. You can reply to that email to ask that we immediately remove the email address from the account to free it up for use with a different account.
