Closing my site with wordpress and using the same address with another host

  I wish to close my website with wordpress and use the same address ie thrivemicrofinance.com with another host

  Hi there, you are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide.

  After you do this, you can set your site to private to hide it from visitors and search engines. You’ll always be able to log in and manage your domain through this link:

  http://henrybartram.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  After 60 days from the date of purchase or registrant contact information change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar by following this guide.

  If you go this route, once the transfer is fully complete, you may choose to
  delete your site or set it to private.

  Hi, many thanks for getting back to me. I set up my WordPress blog a few years ago but I now need a website not a blog. I do not want messages appearing. So I tried to take the blog function off my WordPress site but could not do it. I then created a new website with another organisation but I cannot use the name I want to use (thrivemicrofinance .com) because that name is already used or attached to my WordPress blog.
  I would like to close my WordPress account in its entirety and release the thrive name so that I can attach to the new website.

  Hi Henry, to point your domain name to another host, you’ll need to follow the instructions for one of the options I provided earlier:

  1. You are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide.

  After you do this, you can set your site to private to hide it from visitors and search engines. You’ll always be able to log in and manage your domain through this link:

  http://henrybartram.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  You can’t delete your WordPress.com site if you go this route since you’ll need to access the dashboard to manage your domain.

  OR
