Closing my WordPress Account

  If I close my account, will the domain name disappear? And will I stop being charged for the yearly domain name fee?

  Hi there, what domain name are you referring to? I only see a free WPcom website on this account.

  In principle, if you registered a custom domain name as part of a WPcom upgrade plan, if you stop paying for the upgrade and the domain renewal, they will expire. Here’s more on what happens when a domain expires: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

  If this WPcom account (or another) does have an upgrade on it, you will want to remove the upgrade prior to closing your account. You can read more about this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/
