Cloudways and Namecheap Enquiry

Hi, I really am confused about WordPress domain option, on one hand: Cloudways says I have to purchase a domain to connect with their WordPress hosting server; then on the other hand: WordPress is telling me that I can buy/have a free year domain with them, (does that include hosting or do I still go with Cloudways and use the free domain you give with each WordPress plan?).
Please help, I hope I can get a reply today. I like to resolve it today please and thank you, -

You’re talking about 2 different things which I think is a big part of the confusion. Cloudways is describing the open source WordPress.org software. That’s much more hands on and you are responsible for the entirety of the site. If it breaks, you’ll be the one to fix it, etc… For some folks that’s a good option.
