CNAME change to Shopify

    Hi

    I m not able to modify the CNAME as it is blocked. I was able to change the A yesterday.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for getting in touch. The wildcard CNAME record in your domain ensures that if anyone incorrectly types your domain (like ww instead of www), they are properly redirected to the www version of the domain, which loads your correct site.

    We understand Shopify recently started asking their site owners to remove this CNAME record. As they mentioned, your Shopify site will continue to function even with this wildcard DNS record in place; you may just continue to see the error message in your dashboard.

    We’re currently working on a solution to remove the wildcard CNAME record, and I’ve noted your domain and account details to follow up with you when there is one.

    You can now remove the wildcard CNAME record from your domain DNS records at WordPress.com so you can use it with your Shopify site! 😊
