DNS records control where your domain name points—which website loads, where email is delivered, and how your domain connects to other services. This guide shows you how to view and manage your domain name’s DNS records on WordPress.com.
📌
DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to take effect across the internet. This delay is called propagation. If your site is not working after a recent DNS change, wait for propagation to complete before making additional changes.
Domain Name System (DNS) records control what happens when someone types your domain name into their browser. They determine which website appears, where your emails get delivered, and how you can connect your domain to other services like email providers or marketing tools.
Your domain name’s DNS records are controlled by where your name servers are set. To manage DNS records on WordPress.com, your domain name’s name servers must point to WordPress.com. To change where DNS is managed, see Change a domain’s name servers.
