Code Snippet Fatal Error

  • Unknown's avatar

I create a “product” in my Stripe account, select “Use with Checkout”, that generates a snippet, I copy it, try to create a snippet in my WP/EDD site using Code Snippets, and get “The code snippet you are trying to save produced a fatal error on line 1: syntax error, unexpected ‘<’, expecting end of file”.
I contacted Stripe about this (via chat, which they bumped up to email) and was told “After taking a deeper look, I would recommend reaching out to WordPress for help as this indicates there may be an error on their side since the error is occuring when you attempt to use a custom button. Since WordPress built their integration with Stripe, they'll be best able to help you with this directly”.

    So here I am. ☺

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums.

Please post in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead for help:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums

I don’t know of any built-in integration between the WordPress software and Stripe, though. Are you sure you’re not using some kind of Stripe plugin? In that case your better option would be to contact support for that plugin directly.
