colours problem
-
I have a problem with my page, I chose the colours I like BUT in the way it looks in the cell phones the letters in the menu and the background colour do not make such a contrast to be easily seen. I tried in the Customize to change either the colour of the letters or the box of that menu with no luck. Can you give me some clue how to achieve this?
thank you

Hi there,
Can I see this on your homepage? Or is it a specific place I need to look at?
I checked on a few pages at random but I did not see the issue you described. Thanks for pointing it out!

If you visit my page with cellphone there is no top menu like on desktop or tablet format. There is just a menu button on the right that when you press it the menu that opens has the same colour as a background with the main theme and the letters are dark too. The result is that its not easy to navigate to my page with cellphone. Never imagined that but I got it as a feedback and there are many that see the first page and stop there. If the colour of the letters could change or the background of that menu would be ideal…. (when you press a button the colour changes and its easy to see what you visited previously)
thank you

Thanks for clarifying.
I see that by default this theme comes with a light (white) background as shown here: https://wordpress.com/theme/ixion/
When the site uses a lighter colored background the menu is visible but the text color for the mobile version of the menu is pre-set (it cannot be easily modified) and does not work well with dark backgrounds like what you have set on your site now.
Even though there is not a built in setting for these colors, you do have a few options:
- Upgrade to the Premium plan, which includes the ability to add custom CSS to make targeted changes to either the color of the text or the background on dropdown items.
- Set a lighter background color than what you have now, until you find a color that makes mobile menus easier to read
- switch to a theme that is designed to use dark backgrounds, and will not have this issue.
If you are interested in switching themes let us know and we’re happy to suggest a few that are similar and will work with darker backgrounds, thanks!

goodafternoon
I am still trying to figure out how to customize and just remembered that the same problem happened with the main menu back the first place in the desktop version and somehow I removed the colour from the menu and made it white. Or something like that. I am trying to alter the colour of that menu in the developed tools. Can you give me some hint? How to save my changes?
thank you
Michalis

Hi Michalis,
Changing the colors in your browser’s developer tools will only work in that specific browser as those changes are made locally and are not reflected on your published site.
The developer tools are not meant for such changes. If you want to make CSS changes to your theme, you’ll have to upgrade to the Premium plan and use the site’s built-in CSS editor (https://wordpress.com/support/editing-css/#access-the-css-editor).
