.com, .org, and plugins
-
So I originally made a site at wordpress.com. I bought a premium version, but wanted to use plugins which as I seem to read are a wordpress.org feature that you can’t use when the site is hosted at wordpress.com? I had also bought a custom domain name, which I then used when I registered at blue host and installed wordpress.org. But when I go to my site, it’s still the same wordpress.com with no “plugins” option on the sidebar of the dash board. What should I do to fix this?

Correct

If you want to use the domain you purchased here on a self-hosted install of WordPress you will have to change your DNS pointers in your WPcom Domain Dashboard to your site at Bluehost. This Support doc will get you started https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/ After the 60 day waiting period that ICANN requires for new domains, you can then transfer the domain to a different registrar if you choose.
I see that you’ve only signed up within the last few days. If you want to request a refund for your Premium bundle (but keep the Custom Domain name), you can tag this thread for Staff assistance with the refund to make sure that all goes smoothly. Just confirm this in a reply to my post and then add the MODLOOK tag to the Tags section of this forum thread sidebar.
