    I am a composer and want to start blogging to share ideas and let people know where I am coming from, so people can get inside my mind a little.
    So I have
    https://pianoweed.wordpress.com/
    which I like just fine.
    But I have heard that a blog can help your website presence if they are connected in the right way. Does this have that kid of connection?

    I made a blog page on my website:
    https://kevinweed.com/blog/
    I am working on getting comments and a sidebar for a subscription widget.
    Would this be a better choice? Does having this blog right on the website help SEO, ranking, visibility, all those things? I know these things are a slow process, but I just want to get started in the right direction.

    If I upgrade https://pianoweed.wordpress.com/ would that help in this way?
    Honestly, I am not even sure if I am actually asking the right questions.

    People come to my website to buy PDFs of classical music I compose. It’s very small sales now. So I am trying to get things in order: SEO, efficiency, emails, blog, sharing, Facebook, connections, YouTube. So I know where to put my energy.

    Thanks for writing to us. After reading this, it sounds like you want to build a blog with WordPress.com at pianoweed.wordpress.com and then direct that kevinweed.com/blog. Is that correct?

    A blog can definitely help you grow your audience and traffic. In turn, that could increase your revenue from the site.

    To set this up as I have outlined above, you would need to have a site redirect in place on that free WordPress.com blog. More details here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

    Another option would be to just move the domain, and site, over to WordPress.com. You’d have everything in one place, and we have some different payment systems that you can use to collect funds for purchases. Let me know if that is of interest and I’ll send along that information as well.
