Combining an old and new site
-
Hello,
This is kind of an odd request, but I wondered if I can combine an old and new site for my publication. We’re a student newspaper and the command changes every year, so somewhere along the way someone changed the site from https://troubonline.wordpress.com/category/features/page/7/ to http://www.troubonline.com/. For the sake of our archives, we’d like to unite the sites, as well as alter a few of the old articles, but we don’t have the credentials to the old site since that was years ago and there is new leadership. What do you recommend?
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi intutionsofanintern,
someone changed the site from https://troubonline.wordpress.com/category/features/page/7/ to http://www.troubonline.com/.
These two sites are separate from one another:
- troubonline.wordpress.com is hosted by WordPress.com
- troubonline.com was created using the self hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.org) and is hosted by SiteGround
We have some information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here in this guide:
If you would like to combine the two sites, content would need to be exported from troubonline.wordpress.com, then imported into troubonline.com.
but we don’t have the credentials to the old site since that was years ago and there is new leadership
Is there any way you can contact the previous owners of troubonline.wordpress.com?
Just let me know and we can go from there.
