comment breaks

  In my discussions setting, I’ve checked the box to break comments into pages with 50 comments per page, but it hasn’t worked on my last couple posts. There get to be a lot of comments for people to scroll through. Just wondering if others have noted this and if there’s something I can do about it? I use the Watson premium theme.

  I see it has now started breaking the comments into pages for me, but there are still far more than 50 comments per page (I counted 83 comments on this page: http://carrierubin.com/2014/01/14/a-post-of-gratitude/comment-page-2/#comments). But now I’m wondering, perhaps it doesn’t count nested comments as a separate comment? I’ve changed the setting to 30 comments per page now and will see if that makes a difference the next time I post. Thank you!

  I now see that it doesn’t count the nested comments as separate. If one comment generates a dozen more in a nested fashion, it still just counts it as one comment. Guess that means I need to drop it to about 20 comments per page. That should be the most manageable. Thanks!
