Comment Managing Plugin
-
Has anyone found a widget or plugin that will help manage the automatic closure of comments on a single post? I use Disqus as the platform, I don’t want to use the global functions to close comments. I have a daily post that is put up and closed at midnight that same day, I would like to automate the process without closing all other posts. Need help please! :-)

Hi –
In order to use plugins here, on the managed WordPress.com hosting environment, our business plan would be required.

On the open source WordPress.org software you can use plugins for free. But you would need a domain and a hosting provider.
Can you tell me which site you’re working on? Then we can get you in the right direction fro some help. Thanks.

Thanks for that. That site is hosted with Dreamhost. You’ll be able to install whatever plugins they allow, but you won’t have direct WordPress support.
You can use these forums for self-managed installations though:

Cheers!

Thank you for that, my question was more about whether there is a plug in that enables a site to close a “specific type” of post, not all post comments? I have been searching but haven’t found one.

@cbsm57 ah, sorry I missed that.
Try the forums over at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ — someone there might have done this.
