Comment on Get Acquainted, etc.

    I’m totally new to this – first time ever on your site – today. The plan is to take over maintenance of an existing WP site.
    So I go to /get-acquainted and start reading and following the recommendations. But it’s getting pretty out-of-date dude. I appreciate the philosophy, approach and the free factor and all – so I can learn it w/o paying any $ up-front. But it’s a bit of a challenge with the training doesn’t reflect what’s really on the site (or vice versa).
    Also, I bought a “Sam’s Teach Yourself WP3” and I look all around to find out what version I’m looking at and can’t find it anywhere…

    Nothing has really changed here since that was last updated.

    What exactly are you having trouble with?

    WordPress.com is entirely separate from WordPress.org, which is what is covered by the book you have. Technically, we run WordPress 3.3 with some bits of the upcoming 3.4 release.
