Commenting on other WordPress blogs

    For the past few days I have been unable to post comments on other people’s WordPress blogs. My comments appear to post, then disappear into thin air. If I try to repost them it says ‘duplicate post’, yet neither I nor the reader can see my original comment. This is very frustrating. What is happening and how can I fix it?

    Hi there,

    Depending on the site you are commenting on, some site owners moderate comments by holding them for approval before they show up on the site:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-comments/

    Can you provide me a post URL of a site where you left a comment and still do not see it displayed?

    It could be possible that your comments are being caught by Akismet and if that is the case, you will need to reach out to them and let them know that your comments are being caught by mistake:

    Thank you for your quick response. I do know that the blogs I have been commenting on do not moderate their comments, they are Blogger’s I know and I have been in touch with them. They have also check their spam folders. Here is an example of a blog post that I made a comment on today that does not show up: https://prolificpulse.blog/2019/06/22/10-things-of-thankful-june-21/

    When I tried to repost the comment that I had written, I received the msg that it was a duplicate comment, although the original is not visible on her blog.

    I have not had this problem previously when commenting, has there been some change to Akismet? If that is a possibility I will contact them.

    Hi there,

    Please contact that blog’s owner and ask them to make sure that your comments are not landing in their spam queue. The message about the duplicate comments suggests that.

    Akismet staff were to able help me resolve the problem which involved both their settings and browser issues on my end .
