Comments and posts Author’s nicknames disappeared all at a sudden, sitewide.
-
Hi guys, this morning I noticed that on the blog I’m running (simple plain free WP blog on wp.com), all of the authors names, both in posts and comments have been replaced by an unlinked, non-clickable number 1 in square brackets.
This happened overnight (until yesterday it was all fine) and this change affected the whole blog, also the older posts.
Needless to say I didn’t change a thing tonight and nobody else has Admin privileges on the blog. Apart from that, I don’t think a thing like this could be achieved by just tweaking the settings, at least not on a free WP blog with no hosting options.
I noticed that this is happening randomly also with other blogs I follow, apparently without a common pattern: some are free, some are paid WP plans, some are self-hosted. On some of them the bracketed number one is still clickable and leads correctly to the Auhotr’s page, on others not.
Some update went bad, or other ideas ?
THank you all in advance for your help !WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just forgot to mention that I don’t think it’s a theme related issue. All the other blogs I saw, affected by this thing, use different themes than mine (BTW, the old twentyfourteen).

This a known bug and the wordpress.com developers are working on it. You’ll just have to wait till they solved this problem.

Thanks, Mate !
I should have imagined that… I just felt like posting because although I’ve spent a couple of hours browsing forums I found nothing about it. Must be a “newborn bug”…
Thank you again, have a nice day !
