Comments Dissapear or go into spam from frequent commenters

  I have had problems the last week with comments by frequent commenters that go into spam and/or reports of people actually “seeing” a comment they posted, only to have it later dissappear as if I erased it.

  Has anyone had this problem?

  The spammers are all the time changing tactics, IP addresses, email addresses, etc., and the spam filters are always having to adjust to the new tactics and when this happens, sometime innocent people get caught. Just keep marking them as “not spam” and the Akismet spam filter will learn and shortly they will not be getting caught.

  As far as comment disappearing, I haven’t a clue. I’ve never seen that in the time I’ve been here so this is something you might have to discuss directly with staff. If you can give the commenter’s username and email address to help them figure out what is going on.
