Comments section, Reply button disappears as the thread continues
-
I wanted to ask about the comment section of my website, https://entirelypresentingyou.wordpress.com/
Most of the time, the reply button on comments I get are usually present, and usable. However, after a thread continues for long enough, the Reply button eventually disappears, preventing any further discussion or conversation from happening.
Here is a screenshot of an example.
The reply button should be present after buggaboo’s second comment.
In this case, I can still reply, but only through other channels, like through my notifications, but other users can’t. I’m afraid that this will prevent me and other readers from communicating with each other.
Basically my question is, how can I fix this issue? Thanks

Thanks for the screenshot.
When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi there,
This is normal and has to do with your comment nesting settings. Your site has comments set to nest up to three levels deep. Once you reach the third level you can’t reply directly to a comment any more, as that would need a fourth lever of nesting. You can still reply to the comment via the Notifications panel, though, so the two people already in the conversation can keep on replying to each other indefinitely, though at one point the comment box will become so narrow it won’t even be able to show full words on a line.
You can change the nesting settings at My Site ->Settings ->Discussion to allow for more levels, but it doesn’t look good if a thread gets too many levels, which is why we allow you to control how many levels you want on your site.
