comments to the blog – who owns the rights to those?

    If I comment on your blog (like I’m doing right now), do you own the rights to the comment or do I? If you wanted to publish a book on what people ask questions about, would you be able to take my comment here (because I posted it to your blog and you own the rights to my comments)–or would you have to track me down and get my permission to use my comment in your book (because I still retain the rights to my comment even though I posted the comment to your blog)? Thanks!

    Hi there, as it states in the following on editing or comments left on other sites, and as you state, the person that made the comment owns that comment.

    As far as whether a site owner could use those or not in some sort of publication without the comment owner’s permission is something you would have to consult with a lawyer about.
