Confirming I am logged-in as our account administrator

How do I know if I’m logged in as and admin? I ask b/c I do not see an option for Plugins on my left navigation bar and I’m being told, by a college, that it may be because I’m not logged in as an Admin. I wanted to reach-out and see how I could confirm this or if you could help me figure-out why I’m not able to see and add Plugins to our account.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I believe your colleague may be talking about the self-hosted WordPress.org install rather than WordPress.com. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Please note, it is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

However, I did check and found that the username: tptherapy is the admin of the site: typtherapy.wordpress.com.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!
