Confused about domain mapping

    Hi there, I am hoping somebody can help me with my enquiry. Might be a stupid question but I am just a bit confused.
    So currently I have my site as unknownroute.wordpress.com and I am on a free plan.
    I have bought a domain name unknownroute.com from a domain name provider but do not have hosting.
    Q1. Do I need to upgrade my plan to personal to be able to use my own domain?
    Wordpress tells me that domain mapping is 13 euro a year. Does that mean I have to update to personal first and then pay extra 13 euro a year for the mapping?
    Q2. Since I don’t have hosting on my .com site if I use mapping can I still host my site on WordPress?
    Q3. Will my post still be visible in the reader?
