Connecting domain to wordpress site
-
Hi there,
I own a domain name with another provider and am trying to connect it to WordPress. I have followed all the instructions on this support page – https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain, but it is still not working.
The external provider is crazy domains, and in my account settings on their end, I can see that the domain lock is off, and the name servers are: ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, and ns3.wordpress.com
However, in WordPress, it is saying that there was an error and something wasn’t updated correctly. It has also been more than the 72 hours recommended for changes to come through.
I would really appreciate some support, as I am not sure what else I can do here.
Kindly,
Jessica.

Hi there!
I’ll be happy to help you with this. Just to confirm, is this the domain you’re trying to connect to your WordPress.com site?
nog-garden.comI checked the WHOIS record and found that it still doesn’t have the WordPress.com nameservers. You can see it here: https://www.whois.com/whois/nog-garden.com
Since you mentioned that it’s been more than 72 hours, I’m assuming it’s not a DNS propagation issue, but rather the changes to the nameservers were likely not done in the correct place on the domain registrar’s end.
Could you please contact your domain registrar (where your domain is registered) and ask them for help with changing the nameservers of the domain? You may need to share the WordPress.com nameservers with them (which you posted above).
We’d love to help you with that, but we are unable to make changes to the domain as it’s registered elsewhere.
Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
