Hi i own the doman sydneytattooartist.com i bought it through wix and I am trying to build a wordpress based page to connect to it i already bought the “mapping ” from wordpress to have the site connected Im trying to figure out how to connect the doman i tried changing the name server but it did not woek i contacted wix and this was there response :
    Hi Carl,

In order to connect your Wix domain to an external website, you will first need to contact your site host for the IP address that the domain should point to.

It is not possible to connect a Wix domain to an external site by changing your domain’s name servers. If you would like to connect your domain using this method, you will need to transfer it to another domain host. For more information about transferring your Wix domain, click here.

Once you have obtained the IP address, you will need to:

    delete your domain’s CNAME records
    edit your existing A record
create two new A records with the same Host Name

In the end, you will be left with three A records, all pointing to the IP address obtained from your site host.

To delete the CNAME records: Sign in to your Wix account > hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > next to the relevant domain, click Manage.
In the Domain Summary window, click the Advanced tab > next to DNS Records, click Manage.

In the Edit Domain Records window, under CNAME (Aliases) > click the X buttons to delete the records.

Take note of the records appearing in the Host column as you’ll be creating these records as A records. E.g., in the example below, the records are http://www.punkybrewster.org and m.punkybrewster.org.

To edit the existing A record: In the Edit Domain records window, next to the A record, click the Pencil icon > edit the IP address > click Modify.

To create the A records: In the Edit Domain Records window, click Add a new A record > enter the Host Name and IP (obtained from your site host) > click Add.

The records should be entered exactly as they were entered under CNAME, except that instead of pointing to a Host Name, they will point to an IP address. All three IP address should be the same.

For the example displayed in the screenshot above, we will create the records as follows:

I dont really understand any of it to be honest and all your help would be much appreciated
    regards
    carl

I meant off course the domain tattooartistsydney.com

  • The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.12

    192.0.78.13
