Contact form email placeholder

  Help! I somehow got my contact info including my email in the contact form so that my personal stuff shows up as the placeholder in the external form. I fixed most of this by deleting the item (name, comment, etc) and adding a new one. But for the email field when I add the new item, it still shows my private email as the placeholder. I tried following the HTML instructions but that was a total disaster. Respect to the software developers – I am not one.

  This is a common misconception about the WordPress.com contact form. Your details are only visible because you’re still logged in to WordPress. No one else will see them. If I visited your site I’d see my details pre-filled in your contact form. Other visitors would see blank fields or their own details if they had WordPress accounts.
