Contact Widget not displaying map graphic properly

  • Unknown's avatar

The contact widget is not displaying the map graphic properly. It looks like the location is in the middle of an ocean. How do I make a map graphic work properly on this widget? I want the map exactly where the widget is for contact info. If I must embed Google maps for a graphic to work how do I place the map where the widgets are?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The Contact Info Widget can be a little fidgety sometimes with maps. (We have some tips on that support page about how to enter your address if the map isn’t showing up correctly.)

In particular, if the address you entered is formatted differently from how Google lists the address, the map may not show up right. Could you try using this address format in your widget:

    296 State St
    Los Altos, CA 94022

I tested that out and it should work for you, but please let me know if you run into any trouble or have any questions about that. :)

    Hmm,

That solution certainly made sense. But, hasn’t seemed to have any significant change in the graphic.

I’ll comb through some more of the support page, but your further assistance in this matter will be appreciate until it is resolved.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I’m sorry that didn’t work for you! The next thing I suggest for this kind of finicky widget is deleting the widget and re-adding it to your sidebar. Sometimes starting over with the widget helps when it’s being stubborn like this.

I just tried that with the widget on your blog, and now the map is showing up correctly for me. Can you take a look and see if it’s working on your end, too?
