Contacting inactive user for url switch

  Can wordpress.com contact the owner of an old unused blog for me without revealing the owners information to me? I would like to ask the owner to transfer the url to me.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Staff will not do this for you.

  There is no expiration date on blogs unused, reserved or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog via a contact form or commenting, then providing the are agreeable there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

  If you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  The only way is for you to contact the site owner via an open comment form or contact form on that site and ask them to transfer the site to you. Staff will not contact the site owner for you.

  If there is no open comment form or contact form or info on the site, you’ll have to pick another URL.

  Is this only for free users? For example, will staff provide this service for business level accounts?

  No. This is for everyone with a blog hosted by WordPress.com. Please read what I posted above because it’s correct.

  Please don’t assume what others have and have not read. Your original comment did not address the second question I asked; that’s why I asked it. I appreciate the help, but not the assumptions.
