Content to the front page, but not in the front page content box

    Hey,
    I’m building my blog/website using the Motif theme, and having a bit of a problem with the “Home Page”.
    In a way, I want it to look like the Motif Demo front page – one large image beneath the top menu, with the the content of the page in the white frame on top of it (that part i managed to create. Yay! :) ), *but* beneath it I want the small frames of other contents, like Testimonials, Recent News, and preferably, Latest Blog Posts (but not only as a list of titles, but a small preview and image if available for each post…)
    I guess my question is – how do i creat those cute little boxes of content beneath the featured image? Or in other words, how do i add content to a front page, but not in the front page title frame?
