Converting website to mobile app

  I already have a website but I want to make it mobile friendly. Is this something WordPress can help with? Advice please.

  If you are talking about a website on the wordpress.com platform, all available themes are mobile friendly.

  No. It’s an existing website first published 20 years ago.

  Upgrading to a more recent theme solves your problem.

  The site was built from scratch not using ‘themes’ and I didn’t want to redo every page, it’s too large for that.

  All wordpress.com sites uses themes, that’s how WordPress works. If your site is not on the WordPress.com platform, we cannot help you on this forum.
