Cookie banner and GDPR

Hi everyone, my page isn’t live yet, I’m currently preparing it and I have a couple of questions regarding the cookie consent block I inserted as widget in the footer.

My understanding is that – to be GDPR compliant – only essential cookies are allowed to be active when a user enters a page and the user has to actively accept advertisment/analytics/marketing cookies. The widget only has the “Accept” option even though the cookie policy page of Automattic (https://automattic.com/cookies/) lists various cookies of the avertising/analytics category.

I have the Personal plan and I wonder why there is no GDPR compliant cookie consent banner version I can use? How can I know that the page only collects essential cookies?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Best,

    Steffi
