copy text including links from macbook pages to wordpress

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a Pages document with a lot of links that I need to post on a WordPress site. When I try to cut and paste it, it omits the links. Is there a way to fix that? I really don’t want to copy every single link again.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi there,

Can you describe the steps you’re using to copy and paste that text? I just tried it out on my end and the links copied over, so I want to see if we’re using different steps to do that. :)

Hi and thank you for getting back to me, rachelmcr. All I did was go up to Edit, Select All and copy on my pages document. Then I went into WordPress and back up to Edit then Paste. It copied all of the text but not the links. Does that make sense?

    Thanks in advance!

That makes sense, thanks! When you paste the text into the WordPress.com editor, are you in the Visual editor tab or in the HTML/Text editor tab? You’ll see those editor tabs in the top right, and you can click on each tab to switch to it.

You’ll need to be in the Visual editor for the links to be pasted in along with the text. If that still doesn’t work for you, please let me know. :)

I think I got it! I was copying using the top tool bar and that didn’t work, but if I copy using Command C and paste using Command V it works! YAY! I was used to a PC so had no idea why I couldn’t even do Control C and V. Trial and error! Thanks for your help. Have a great day.
