Cost of a site? Monthly or just yearly?

  how much per month does it cost to have a wordpress site? It says $99 a year, is that all billed up front or do they have a monthly fee?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Nothing.

  The $99 is an optional upgrade and it is annual. No monthly plans.

  I have a custom domain I purchased online and would like to use it but I would also like to be able to customize my site. Can I do that without having to pay the $99?

  if I get a hosting company will it let me then use my domain or customize my site? I have a blogger right now but want more of a clean look like the KevinandAmanda.com wordpress site
