country-specific domain name: Latvia

Hi everyone,
Non-profit organization I represent decided to use wordpress.com to build their new website. We are going to use Premium plan and we really want to keep our existing domain http://www.lataba.lv.
I already checked with our registrar and they can change the name servers.
But they couldn’t answer me about the zone records ( if they need them or not).
So I’m a little worried if our country-specific domain name is gong to work or not.
Any suggestions or comments? Is there a way how I can check that before we sign up for the Premium plan?Thanks!

I cannot see any reason why lataba.lv would not work. Set up domain mapping for lataba.lv. If for some reason it does not work, I will be happy to refund you any payment you have made.

Zone records are required many times for non US names – lataba.lv probably needs one – staff-ozmodiar or another staff member can add a zone record for you.
If your registrar has trouble with the name servers not changing that is one indicator that a zone record is needed. Also you might get an error when you do the domain mapping

Thanks – the Zone Record tool would not handle that name for me – they should be good to go now
