  The Create a Site wont allow me to move forward without changing my domain and I am planning on keeping my domain and hosting elsewhere. How can I continue

  If you already have hosting elsewhere, why are you trying to create a site on WordPress.com? You only create a site with us if you want to host it with us.

  If you want to host your site at another provider where you already have a hosting account, you need to create your site on their servers, not on ours. In that case you will need to download the open source version of WordPress from WordPress.ORG, and install that on your host’s servers.
