  I am co-administrator for a private WordPress blog with several thousand members. Up until last week, we were able to create a username and password for new members when they sent a request with their email address. The ‘Create New Account’ screen allowed us to do so. WP has now changed that screen to allow only for entry of the email address and sends a link to the new member. It is very confusing for our new members, many of which are older and somewhat technically challenged.

  Has anyone on this forum experienced this same problem? Please advise if there is any solution for getting back to the old ‘Create New Account’ screen.

  Please let me know as soon as possible since we have several pending requests from persons wanting to join our private site.
